Artist Bio

I find immense inspiration from different facets of nature in the places that I have been as well as how we inspect the natural environment from a scientific viewpoint. I enjoy traveling and gaining experiences in which I can expand my perspectives, interests, and aesthetics to mold them into a visually appealing form that both abstracts and represents the ideas and laws that nature offers in such abundance. “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” – Albert Einstein

Allison Wendt

My current mixed media expression makes use of electricity on a wooden surface to reveal the natural pattern electrons take when moving. This is also known as a Lichtenberg figure. Being a natural fractal pattern it is easy to identify other places this pattern occurs in nature. Ex: erosion on the earth’s surface, rivers, washes, to coral, roots, and tiny veins in leaves. A close inspection of the things around you may reveal that this pattern in far more prevalent than first Imagined. I think it is one of the things I like most about it when I work to manipulate it within my works.

Allison Wendt graduated from the University of Arizona in 2015 and currently lives and works in Phoenix Arizona.
